Data for SquashTV in World Championship Finals

We were pleased to provide match data to commentators Joey Barrington, Lisa Aitken and Johnny Williams (who has previously expressed his support for our project) ahead of this year’s World Championship finals in Cairo.

The commentary team used our stats from the 2021 Finals (both clashes this year were rematches) to shine a light on player tactics: how Nour El Sherbini hits a high number of winners from deep while Nouran Gohar is lethal from mid-court; and how the 2021 Final defeat to Ali Farag was confirmation of Mohamed El Shorbagy’s physical woes, reflected in average rally lengths.

We are seeking a contract with the PSA to provide numbers and graphics to the SquashTV coverage generally, but will continue to feed the comms team with data-driven nuggets along the way.
