Sherbini finishes strongly
Nour El Sherbini finished the season in style, clinching the World Tour Finals title in straight games against performer of the season Nouran Gohar.
Here are some numbers from this season's finale.
Like Gohar, Sherbini can rattle off points quickly. She started Game 1 with 6 points in a row, 5 of them 12-shots or fewer...
... before taking 4 of the final 5 points in Game 1
Game 3 was even more quick fire: The first 10 rallies saw Sherbini take a 7-2 lead with no rallies lasting more than 10 shots
Game 3 mean rally length dropped to just 7 shots
Sherbini racked up 22 winning shots in the 33 points she won (Winners & Forced Errors combined). Gohar: 12. Sherbini claimed a phenomenal 5.5 to 1 Winner:Error ratio (Gohar 1.7 to 1)
Sherbini - usually prolific from deep - hit more winners than usual from the front of the court (55%). In part due to Gohar's retrievals from what are often Sherbini winning boasts
Otherwise, both players were evenly matched in terms of shot type. The only real difference emerging in Sherbini’s positional advantage: Sherbini hit 1 in 3 of her shots from mid-court, compared with Gohar’s 1 in 4.

And gave Gohar few angles to work with. On forehands from deep, Sherbini hit 3 out of 4 shots straight. Gohar hit cross court twice as often.
From 1-0 down in the World Champs Final in May, that’s 6 straight Games to Sherbini against The Terminator. Gohar holds the #1 rank, and deservedly won player of the season. But recently El Sherbini reminded everyone she’s still the best player on tour.
